Our main goal is to protect Environment

I'm Advika, a Grade 11 student from Dubai with a passion for creativity and innovation. In 2019, I was part of the EduTech Asia Hackathon champions, designing an ebook on upcycling household items. I later became the head director of EC360 NewsChannel, a student-led initiative that expanded across GIIS campuses globally. In 2021, I founded the film club 'FLIMATIC' at GIIS Singapore, teaching film techniques to younger students. I've also excelled in environmental initiatives, winning first place in the Emirates Environmental Group youth public speaking competition in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, I launched the "Senior Buddies, Little Learners" initiative to promote SDG 4, quality education, fostering connections between senior council members and younger students on World Literacy Day.

Leadership Positions

I have held various leadership roles, including Technology Ambassador, Head Director of EC360 News, Co-Chair of GIISMUN, and Head of the Film Club. As a Prefect and Quality Circle Leader, I’ve championed innovation, evidenced by my roles as Innovation Neoteric 2023 and Innovation Ambassador 2024. Additionally, I serve as a Happiness Ambassador and Youth Team SIC member, reflecting my commitment to creativity, collaboration, and community impact.

My Leisure Activities

I have cultivated diverse artistic skills over the years, including 7 years of Odissi, a classical Indian dance form, and 5 years of Hip-Hop. In music, I have honed my abilities in piano (7 years), guitar (5 years), ukulele (2 years), and drums (4 years). Additionally, I have 5 years of experience in filmmaking and ad design, reflecting my creative versatility.

Academic Standing

I have consistently demonstrated academic excellence throughout my schooling. In Grade 9, I achieved an overall percentage of 96%. During Grade 10, I performed exceptionally well in the Board Exam, securing a score of 95.6%. Currently, in Grade 11, I am maintaining a percentage of 91%, reflecting my ongoing commitment to academic success.

Persistence fuels growth and turns ideas into reality. When I started out, designing an upcycling ebook in 6th grade, the road ahead seemed uncertain. But each step, from founding initiatives to winning competitions, showed me that persistence isn’t just a mindset—it’s the force that transforms small actions into meaningful change. Sustainability isn’t just about the environment; it’s about sustaining our drive to innovate, educate, and inspire others.
